Book Synopsis
This is a short, step by step guide teaching you how to efficiently clean your house or apartment when you move out:

I know how it is. We pay the first month’s rent. We pay the last month’s rent. We
pay a cleaning deposit and what do we get when we move out? Nothing, no
money…zip. I know exactly what goes wrong. As a employee of a janitorial service,
one of my main duties was cleaning vacated apartments and homes. This is referred to
as a final clean.
Landlords want to rent out a nice clean apartment just like we like to rent nice clean
apartments. Most people do not want the last tenant’s old pizza crust, or soap ring in
the tub. If the apartment wasn’t cleaned to the landlord’s expectations, they hire a
professional to finish the job. To have this job done professionally costs money: our
deposit money.
Job after job I noticed one thing: most of you try your best. I could tell by the number
of empty cleaning products, empty paper towel spools and empty “big gulp” cups
stuffed in brown paper bags by the front door. I was amazed at the number of times I
found the inside of a half-cleaned oven still covered with dried gray oven foam, and a
crunchy rag sitting in the back corner. The fact that someone give up costs them
money.
I want to make your final clean easier. I am going to train you to do my job.
Personally, I would prefer not to clean your oven or your apartment, nor would I like to
move into an apartment that, even with good intentions was poorly cleaned. I will
teach you to get more of your cleaning deposit back, with a lot less work
