Book Synopsis
Because we believe that original information about roots and herbs is invaluable today, the true and accurate contents of this wonderful book have been re-formatted and typeset to protect, preserve and promote their place among authentic American Indian herbal lore.
Dr. John Goodale Briante reported this Indian Method of Healing in 1870, giving directions for preparing and using these Indian Remedies he himself used.
He wrote, “The Remedies given may be relied upon, and are the result of a long and careful study of the system followed by the natives of this country, whose singular success in the treatment of disease is well known.” These are the same he used during a successful practice of thirty years among the St. Francis Tribe of Indians, at Green Bay; also, for several years with the Pottawattamies and other Tribes.
