Book Synopsis
The History of Witchcraft in England 1558-1715 by Wallace Notestein is a Piranesi Press Historical Reprint. This is an abridged version of the original 1911 book removing the mundane 732 academic footnotes and forty some pages of appendices so the narrative is clear and easy to read. The unabridged version is also available but is twice the page volume and a bit more costly to produce, therefore the difference in price. Unless you are an academic researcher of witchcraft, this version is your best bet and more enjoyable to read. I think Dr. Wallace must have set a world record for the number of footnotes in a book at the time.
