Book Synopsis
There is not one verse in the Bible that commands us to baptize infants. There is not one example in the New Testament of infants
being baptized. The new covenant, as described in Jeremiah 31, teaches that all who are in the new covenant know the Lord. Yet under the
Abrahamic covenant, many were circumcised who did not know the Lord. There is clearly a di$erence between these covenants in how they
unfold in redemptive history. Furthermore, the Greek language is not ambiguous regarding the
mode of baptism. There is no need to make this more complicated than it is. We can debate for hours and construct elaborate theological systems based largely on inferences and complex discussions about Old Testament covenants. But plain language and common sense should guide us.The New Testament teaches that those who repent and believe are to be baptized. We !nd no example of infant baptism in the New Testament. The Greek words used are straightforward and understandable.
