Book Synopsis
Scientific, Research Based Lessons From a Middle School Faculty to You!
A great resource for the soon-to-be or beginning teacher or conversation starters and reminders for veteran teachers, this book serves to present simplified lessons on effective teaching for all educators!
This book contains lessons distilled from three years of "inquiry" learning by a middle school faculty with assistance from administrators and university faculty. While these lessons are drawn from scientific research based intervention (response to intervention) principles and have been successfully implemented in middle school classrooms, the ideas can be adapted to both secondary and elementary classrooms. The book also contains advice from 8th grade students pertaining to effective teaching. Each lesson or piece of advice is paired with an acronym and picture to make it even more memorable! An extensive list of peer-reviewed educational research is included at the conclusion of the book.
