Book Synopsis
Spread the Jam will take you through the steps of signing up for an open jam, or sitting in with a band, making some great music and forming lasting friendships and memories on stage. You'll understand how to call a tune so the other musicians can play along, how to interpret the verbal and non-verbal communications musicians give on stage, and how to network with the other players and patrons in the scene.
This book covers jam etiquette, beginning improvisation, song forms typically found in these types of musical environments, a breakdown of the genres that utilize the jam setting, what to do when you arrive at a new jam and how to be successful in sharing the stage with other players and more. Now oil your valves, tune your guitar, grab your drum sticks, grab your bass, warm up your chops, and get out there and make some music!
