Book Synopsis

The purpose of this book is to help enlighten people about the choices we make verses the things we see, I’ve learned that a thirty second decision can alter thirty years of your life. The power to make the right choice is all predicated upon having the right mindset. The message conveyed in this book, is to never allow your issues, circumstances, or surroundings to dictate your ability to do what’s right or what’s just. Staying in control of your emotions by staying in control of your mindset and remembering good is much more powerful than bad. Righteousness is much more powerful than unrighteousness. We are all created by God; therefore, seek that connection to better exercise the ability to be positive creatures, with a burning desire to consciously make good choices in your life, that will ultimately impact the lives of others. If you don’t mind, you can be all the great and wonderful things that you would like to become.

Pastor Paul Askew, born in Cleveland Ohio, now preaching in Petersburg, Virginia was raised by a single Mother and three siblings. Growing up, not having much, witnessing the negatives and dangers of living in a poverty- stricken neighborhood; he beheld the strength and resilience of his Mother and his Grandmother’s spirituality and prayers.

Learning differences between right and wrong, good and bad, from his grandmother; he learned very quickly life is a choice where you don’t have to be a victim of your environment, nor be the victimizer.

Being introduced to God at age 17, becoming a born again Christian, and preaching his first sermon at age 18; he served as a Marine for 10 years, after joining in 1983 at the age of 53 he is proof that though he’s been through ups and downs, trips and falls, experienced shortcomings and disappointment- he chose to rise from the ashes and remain faithful to the power of positivity by doing good and loving all humanity. Additionally, he serves as Director of Religious Activities for his job within DOD, teaches and preaches to everyone, “If you don’t mind - you can be a positive force in your environment in spite the negatives.
