Book Synopsis
In this fast-paced story of resilience and faith Lorri Danzig participates in the restoration of her health with the help of a disparate group of collaborators. In the process of this year long journey toward wellness, she explores her relationship with a God both transcendent and immanent and demonstrates how our suffering is ultimately never about the circumstances of our lives, but always a function of our own perspective.

"My Father the Fish is rich with beautiful poetic passages and deep honest revelations that make one stop to reflect on both life's big questions and smaller ones." Eliezer Sobel, author of Minyan: Ten Jewish Men in a World that is Heartbroken, winner of the prestigious Peter Taylor Award.

This is a beautifully written and poignant story of how a person can transform a potentially devastating brain tumor into an ongoing practice of spiritual transformation. Lorri describes her daily efforts to use her brain tumor as a blessing rather than a curse towards her goal of knowing God in her everyday life. A very powerful and moving book designed to raise awareness on how to "render life's hardships spiritual."

"A courageous and fourth-right book that provides us with a rare personal look into the first-hand experiences of very serious illness. This remarkable book is about the path that the author made through her sickness to her restored good health. It is written with amazing candor. Through this book the author shares with us very private details and sensitive descriptions of her inner life as she experienced puzzling and scary symptoms, a shocking diagnosis, the weighing of options, pre-surgery thoughts and fears; surgery and recovery and much, much more. I am not a doctor, but In my opinion - This Book Is Medicine!"

Fast read, incredible journey, wonderful insights. I highly recommend this book particularly for anyone going through a life altering medical issue or for those invested in supporting someone you know who is faced with the uncharted territories that lie ahead.

My Father the Fish is rich with beautiful poetic passages and deep honest revelations that made the whole experience of reading it a very rich one for me. Most of all, it frequently made me stop and think and reflect on life's big questions. And smaller ones.
