Book Synopsis
Flowers reigned within medieval lore, as virtues of Our Lady to explore. Columbine, for example, were said to grow in Mary's footprints as she traveled with haste to meet her cousin Elizabeth, and when She walked towards the joyful Presentation, Snowdrops lined the hillside. Each flower is an image of Our Lady's virtue. Mary, the Immaculate Conception, is the only creature preserved from the effects of Original Sin. Still, the flowers in Mary's Garden help us to contemplate Her virtues. This devotional includes thirty-three of Mary's flowers, in honor of every year Her Son, Christ Jesus, spent on earth, from His birth to His Ascension. Each flower is paired with a quatrain written in heroic couplets, and an image of the flower from antiquity.
