Book Synopsis
These are lyrics that I wrote while I was trying to break into the music scene - first in Atlanta, then in New York City. I would make demos by singing and playing on my keyboard. I never had voice lessons; I didn’t know how to play an instrument, and I had no musical talent whatsoever. I would record myself with an old tape recorder in my bathroom. My recordings were laughable at best, but I thought they sounded good at the time and even believed they would score me a record deal. I can still remember how they sounded, and as I read over these lyrics of mine, I can hear the music playing in my head. The years were 1993 to 1995, and I was 21 to 23 years old, respectively.

About The Author
Author bio image
This short lyric book is dedicated to David. He was someone who I worked with at the time. He had his recording equipment in the basement of his mom’s house in Brooklyn; I remember she kept shouting downstairs for us to be quiet. He was a talented musician and played a mean set of keys. My song “Just Friends” was recorded one hot summer night with his cat meowing up a storm in the background. I won’t forget it, because it was supposed to be a sorrowful and sad song, but I couldn’t stop laughing. These songs are arranged by title (disregarding the articles “A” and “The” as is grammatically correct), alphabetically.
