The poetry in this book is a kind of journey. It takes the reader to the unexpected places and events a traveler encounters. Like any traveler, the reader will hear more than one language, and in this journey it is a touch of French and a liberal use of Spanish.
The creatures have taught me
to love the breadth of each season
they favor the month of May
where each evening inspires
the dun mockingbird
a kinetic contralto soul
to sing everyone’s song for an egg
(From We once lived together..)
