Book Synopsis
After ten years working on his father’s farm – beginning at the age of 10 – John Edgar Scott joined the U.S. Army as it began a period of mobilization leading up to World War II. After three years of training on posts and stations in the United States, he deployed with the Second Infantry Division to Ireland, then Wales, and ultimately crossed over Omaha Beach on D+1. After the war, he returned home to Texas and reunited with his wife, Vivian. Over the next 14 years they established new homes as the Army and Air Force sent Edgar to new postings. Then, with 19 years of honorable, military service Edgar chose a new path to success – one that would raise the level of challenge and bring greater reward and success. He returned to farming with the assistance of the Texas Veterans Land Board.
