Book Synopsis
My last clear living memory was of a brilliant flash, followed by a dull pop.
Abruptly I was looking at my body from above. It was laying slumped on the floor, having fallen from my chair, but weirdly in this state I was still sitting in my chair, so you can take it with you I thought. Deep red blood was already seeping from my head while brightly glowing shards of crystal lay scattered everywhere. Slowly they dimmed, their soft blue glow winking out one by one depending upon their size. Still my body didn’t move, even though I was willing it to move with all the mental might of a pigmy trying to lift a Big Boy locomotive. Not a good sign I realized when my body adamantly refused to budge, but I was only able to look upon myself for a few more seconds. There were Things tugging at me, lines, wires, strings? So randomly I reached out and touched one of the weaker, less insistent things, wondering what it was.
