Book Synopsis
The author, Dale Satterthwaite (1909-1973), was a pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church of downtown Los Angeles for most of his adult life. He was a giant among pastors, and instilled in all who attended the church there with an intense compassion for spreading the gospel to everyone. His church was always filled with new believers as well as seasoned saints of God. He showed the editor the photos of past memberships through the decades of his ministry, and out just about every past member as one who left to become a Pastor or Missionary elsewhere, leaving him the job of seeking to build up the replacements.
This book is a collection of twelve of his sermons during the last year of his life. They have managed to be spared the ravages of time, and have continued to encourage many believers in the faith and in holy living. This book will inspire the child of God to want to have daily devotions and share with all who will hear of the great work of Salvation that works in us.

He had hoped to got to China to be a missionary there, but instead was compelled to become the Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Los Angeles, with his wife, Iva, when still fairly young. He spent his life there, and saw a Bible College start in his Church and then spin off to find their own facilities in Newhall. He also was there when BIOLA Bible College was started. Those that knew him, remember him as a pastor to pastors, and a missionary to missionaries. He died while in Kansas, working to set up for the large national conference of Regular Baptist churches. He was to be one of the speakers, as usual, but considered it a privilege to help in the setup and takedown of chairs and tables for these and any other meeting.
