Book Synopsis
Disconnected 2046 is a timely story that uses a mission to Mars as a backdrop to a larger question about society's addiction to internet connectivity. Rachael, Noah, Nathan, Gertie, and fifty-two other scientists and engineers are all on a path none of them could have predicted; a path set out years before they were selected for a four-year-mission on Mars. Their stories start off not too far into our own future and takes them to the year 2046 and a new home called Pendulum on the planet Mars.

I never really thought too much about how completely dominating the internet and technology is becoming, and this book gives me a whole new perspective. I'm not going to throw away my iphone just yet, but I am seeing the effect on society in a new light. Well told story, interesting and timely topic, and something for all of us to think about.
