Book Synopsis
A Century of Centurions Landscape Architects, Exhibition of 1993. by R. Terry Schnadelbach, FAAR (LAUDpress, 2010)
A first-of-its-kind exhibition on landscape architect members of the elite New York Century Association was conceived at a Century Club lunch. Schnadelbach, was asked to curate an exhibition featuring the work of Centurion Landscape Architects of the past "100" years. Thought to be an exhibit on “Olmsted and a few others,” the exhibit turned into a major project featuring 37 of the profession’s most important leaders. The Century Club has played an important but silent history in the profession of landscape architects. Much of material incorporated in the exhibition have not been published before. This book is a review of exhibition held in 1993, in the Century Association's main gallery. The exhibs present new history of the Profession of Landscape Architecture and new historical insights of Centurion members.
