About The Author
For over a decade and a half, Philip Kiing has maintained multiple disciplines within the Behavioral Health field. Kiing has been an avid speaker against the disparities, discriminations, and “profit versus health” paradigm in regards to the African American experience. As an active advocate, Coordinator of Behavioral Healthcare, Certified Peer Counselor, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, Certified Addiction Counselor, Director of Behavioral
Health Utilization, Author of Project 274, Author of Black Stress,
and other disciplines within the field, Kiing has been an integral
component in promoting the awareness of established flawed methods of multilayered Behavioral Health systems and processes. As a survivor of a near death experience from extremely severe law enforcement brutality, Kiing has successfully transformed trauma-based care into a proverbial platform of contagious
positivity and truth. Kiing brings spirituality, racism, power, and
truth to the table while championing “Changing the Cycle.” This collection of traumatic events is a very emotional and thought-provoking journey that promotes changing the cycle as a necessary alternative, to the continued decompensation of the collective consciousness of all communities.
