Book Synopsis
In the summer of 1863, a momentous military engagement occurred in a small, rural town in south-central Pennsylvania: Gettysburg. The Union Army, led by Gen. George Meade, defeated the Confederates/Army of Northern Virginia, commanded by Robert E. Lee. After three days of brutal fighting, thousands of soldiers died (on both sides). This is a brief sampling of battlefield photographs taken by noted war photographers of the time.
About The Author
T.R. Lazorishak (Luh-zor-shak), a Ukrainian-Slovak-American, grew up in football-crazy western Pennsylvania (in Mercer County). His Dad, Ted (now in his 80s), graduated from Gettysburg College in the early 1950s. His Mom, Flo, was a housewife/art glass collector. The author spent happy times as a kid in the 1960s-70s exploring the battlefield at Gettysburg during family vacations.
T.R. is a U.S. Air Force veteran who lives and works in scenic Colorado, far from the rolling, green hills of his youth in the old Keystone State. He enjoys writing part-time and also enjoys watching college football (his favorite teams are the Pitt Panthers and Air Force Academy Falcons). The author has written other booklets, which can be found at The Book Patch
(www.thebookpatch.com); go to "Bookstore" on the website, then search using the author's name.
