Book Synopsis
This is the second (and longest) installment in the story of the author's wandering and working in much of northern Europe, Scandinavia, and the United Kingdom in 1972 and 1973. The first volume, "Experimental Vagabond," begins in early 1972 and ends in mid June. This volume begins with the arrival of the author's parents in France as they begin a three-month odyssey with the author exploring areas of France, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, England, Wales, and Scotland. The book ends with the author's months on his own in Germany, mostly as a German language student at a Goethe Institute located in a village at the foot of the Alps in Bavaria. The third volume in the series, "Lewis & Clark College, Germany, 1973" recounts the author's experiences working with college students in Hamburg and Berlin from January to late May 1973. The books are both memoir and travelogue, but all offer many photographs and anecdotes of historical interest as well.
