Over the past 35 years Ron Barthet of Covington, LA., has been drawing cartoon pictorial maps of area towns, mainly the downtown business areas. His work has been featured on restaurant placemats, school textbook covers, postcards, Mardi Gras cups, and even T-Shirts. Each map spotlights the history of the town, and often names the key businesses located in the community. All in all, it's the continuation of a centuries-old art style that has recorded "bird's eye views" of cities around the world.
