His work has been featured on restaurant placemats, school textbook covers, postcards, Mardi Gras cups, and even T-Shirts. Each map spotlights the history of the town, and often names the key businesses located in the community. All in all, it's the continuation of a centuries-old art style that has recorded "bird's eye views" of cities around the world. A collection of photographs and articles about the Southern Hotel in Covington, LA, drawn from blog articles posted on the TammanyFamily.com blog by Ron Barthet. The story of the landmark hotel is told across the years from 1907 to 2017. Stories include the hotel's importance in hosting local and visiting officials for a variety of community discussions, including Governor Earl K. Long's temporary "state capitol" designation. Other topics include its early 1980's complete renovation for use as a parish government administrative complex, when it was home to Tugy's Bar, and its return to splendor as a completely-restored classic hotel.
