This narrative describes our 25-day travel in the United Kingdom, from May 29 to June 22, 2018. The account follows our daily activities sequentially with many color photographs interspersed within the text. It is a reflective narrative written after the trip ended and we returned home. We traveled independently in England for half the time, visiting the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour, the Leicestershire village of Kibworth, the North York Moors Railway, and the northern Lake District. We joined a musical tour of Scotland for the second half or the trip, with visits including Edinburgh, Orkney, and the Isle of Skye.

I attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon for undergraduate studies and took part in the college's overseas study program in West Germany from September 1965 to February 1966. The narrative traces the author's experiences during that program, from the month-long homestay in Berlin to the three month academic stay in Munich. The many photographs that accompany the narrative were taken in 1965 and 1966 and complement the story of a young college student living abroad in the divided Germany of that era.

This is the fourth and last volume narrating the story of my life in Alaska and covers the years 1988 to 1996. The other books cover the years 1973-1978, 1979-1984, and 1984-1988. All are available for purchase through TheBookPatch online bookstore. The books are printed in color because they contain many color photographs to augment the narrative text. The narrative and photos in this volume tell about my experiences as a teacher in False Pass, Cold Bay, and Nelson Lagoon in the Aleutians East Borough, as well as other experiences living in Fairbanks and Wasilla--including summer employment with the Alaska Fire Service. I was cognizant of the historical nature of the story and may have ...

This is an account of Laura Smith-Clawson's and Linn Clawson's trip to the island of Ireland in 2019. It is heavy on color photographs and light on narrative. It was written with ourselves and family as the main audience, and as such it may not appeal to a wider audience. As a tourist's introduction to Ireland, however, both narrative and photographs should whet a prospective visitor's interest in both the Repulic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The Clawson and Thompson families arrived in Elko County, Nevada in the late 1800s. Agnes Thompson Clawson bought an inexpensive camera and photographed her family and the scenes of life around the different locations in which she and her family lived. Agnes's younger brother-in-law, Ray Clawson, began taking photographs of his own about a decade later. The photographs in this book are mostly from Agnes Clawson's collection, but Ray's have been selectively added when the subject matter complements Agnes's images. The limited narrative in the form of image annotations is based on Agnes Clawson's grandson Arthur Clawson's research and documentation, as well as his own and his younger broth ...

This book tells the story of my life as a firefighter for the federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) from 1973 through the 1978 in both western Nevada and Alaska. The first person text traces my experiences and observations chronologically and relies on both original source materials and on personal memories. I have included over 170 color photographs to supplement the text and provide a visual historical reference that would otherwise be missing from a purely textual account. The book may have the greatest appeal to firefighters past and present, but it may also appeal to individuals interested in a very specific segment of history, especially of Alaska history. A second volume will co ...

This is the third book in sequence recounting my life and experiences in Alaska. The first two cover my years as a BLM employee, 1973-1984, and this one covers 1983-1988. This book overlaps the end of the second volume and follows me through the University of Alaska Fairbanks into the four years I taught school in the Iditarod Area School District in the communities of Shageluk, Takotna, and McGrath. The emphasis is on both my personal experiences but on those of my family as well. The book has many color photographs to accompany the text to portray life and locations in the 1980s.

My grandfather, Otis L. Linn, used a small pocket notebook in the spring and summer of 1919 to record daily information of his activities, observations, and thoughts in the days and weeks before he embarked onboard an Army Transportation Service troop ship from Marseilles to New York City by way of Gibraltar and the Azores. The notebook means less by itself than as a supplement to the book of Otis's letters to his family from October 1918 to July 1919. The letters have been published in book form as The Letters of Otis L. Linn With the Y.M.C.A. in France Serving the American Expeditionary Force 1918 & 1919. This book is also available from The Book Patch bookstore.
