This story was inspired by my first encounter with a Dung Beetle found at the Quabbin Reservoir State Park in Belchertown, Massachusetts. I saw a Beetle rolling a dirt ball backwards along the side of the road. Later, I found out that it was a Dung Beetle rolling a poop ball backwards, not a dirt ball. I needed to find out why. That was the year 2013. I dedicate this book to all Dung Beetles and Dung Beetle lovers.
