Written in the wake of a family tragedy, Flowers for Alex presents the first year of grief following the murder of Stotts' brother, Alex Oyombe Gradin, by gun violence. Through a diary-like, chronological record, Stotts explores the cycles of death and rebirth, not only in physical death, but in all of life's joys and heartbreaks - in love, break ups, mental health struggles, a global pandemic, spiritual growth, and in the expansion of consciousness.

I’d like to say this is a collection of poems, but it’s not. It’s a collection of my deepest emotions that we’re designated for someone very close to me. Sadly, this person is no longer with me, so I wrote her this. I wrote her this collection of heartache. If Only We Had More Time tells the story of a woman sitting at her wife's grave talking to, and reminiscing about their life. If Only We Had More Time is loosely based off a true story.

This is a collection of short poems I wrote during a time of love and pain. I hope this brings you peace in knowing that you are not alone. love is hard, but you are softer and worthy of it. Step into the garden my love, it's time to bloom.
