Jack E. Thornton spent his childhood exploring and exploiting the neighborhoods and wild spaces of Walla Walla, Washington. He later attended Washington State University where his love for animals led him to study veterinary medicine. Despite his desire to work with wildlife, independence and freedom drew him to open the Blue Mountain Animal Clinic, a private practice in Sequim, Washington. This punster, poet and provocateur shares short stories centered around animals he encountered throughout his childhood and veterinary practice.

What you see from this book is the adventures we have had with our wildlife habitat feeding environment at our home in New England in a three acre wooded area. It started out small, but we ended up feeding not only the birds, but the squirrels as well. We did not try to keep the squirrels away, but had some platforms built for the squirrels that extended off our deck so they are not left out. Birds love to go to it as well.
