The series continues with Gary moving onto work a special case with the DEA. He becomes part of a major drug cartel case where he provides intel on some of the drug dealers he has surveilled. As he becomes engulfed in this case, he soon learns that there is corruption and illegal activities that are being done and he can’t leave the case without being questioned. He chronicles this journey and a lot of things come to light about lies, corruption and a justice system that is set up for young black men to go into the prison system. Another exhilarating book that brings Gary to the brink of walking away from the police force for good.

Gary is at wits end and he’s finally made a decision to take all of the gathered evidence he has and decides to report everything to the Department of Justice. As he reports everything, he worries about what’s to come of his life as he can no longer be a police officer. He finally comes to grips that there’s much more to be done about racial issues in America. Gary also starts to repair the relationship he once had with his son Gary, Jr. A book that will make you realize that life is more than just a paycheck and a pension and it’s about doing what’s right.

The ending of the series, Gary has gained his sanity back along with his soul. He continues to expose truths that he’s experienced and dealt with. He begins to build back the relationships he has with his family and friends. He also goes through a lot of emotions to end the series as he speaks his truth about life, the police force and how society has changed in so many ways in regards to police and citizens. The big question is what is his next move in his life now that he is no longer on the police force.
