"Jungle Mysteries" is an alternative postcard history of the gonzo adventureland that is Florida, and presents little-known facts and features of the Sunshine State left unaddressed by more conventional, boring pop culture picture books. Many scenes are ones featured in other books of The Whisanant Mythos, of which this is volume twenty-five.

Joseph Reid has written an impassioned declaration of intent. Sufjan Stevens' Michigan is reflected through a lens of a Maryland childhood, given new context and re-imagined as a self-portrait. Jack Fitzgerald provides expressive photography that grounds the poems in a shared reality.

Too much attention has been paid to the images of blacks provided by Jim Crow America. Other images relating to the reality of black life before slavery, during slavery, and in the Jim Crow era in America, was in existence simultaneously. Hundreds of Europe's greatest artists, mostly Christian, before and during the 19th century, were busy recording the cultures being destroyed, replaced, or hidden, by the creators of colonialism, while it was being done. Pieces of My Heart is a collection of original prose and poetry, paired with one-of-a-kind photos and artwork. My prose is motivational, somewhat of an epiphany to open your eyes and take in the life around you. A couple of the pieces dive into my soul, revealing more of my core. My poetry is about love, heartbreak, and finding the pieces of your soul after enduring life’s pains. It is not always sunshine and happiness, the dark corners of my mind came out ever so slightly in a few pieces.
