Rudiments are to drummers as scales are to more tonal instruments. They are the foundation of all we play. For decades drummers were introduced to only 26 rudiments. Eventually, the number grew to 40, but I still didn’t think that was enough. Through the years, I had developed dozens more rudimental rhythms, trying to fill what I saw as gaps between the established rudiments. Now I have gathered these new and innovative rudimental rhythms and added them to the original 26 and the PAS 40 to form an all new must have book for serious drummers.
