On December 31, 2021, I was supposed to fly to the United Kingdom to study abroad with a group of students from the University of Georgia. On December 24, 2021, I tested positive for COVID-19. On Wednesday January 5, I was ready to withdraw from the program. Just before midnight on the U.S. east coast, the U.K. reduced their travel restrictions so that you did not need a PCR test to clear COVID protocols. Over the next couple of days, I scrambled to get things together so I could make it to England that weekend. Scott Biales and Sylvie Golec travel the world for a second time. During there 2 year adventure they return to Wine country Argentina and hike Patagonian wilderness using their own camping gear. They go to Turkey and visit Kurdistan for 4 months, hike the Lycian Way, and work on a zero-waste farm. They move on to India where they become yoga teacher certified and get their permaculture design certification in Nepal. A leisurely visit in Indonesia and Thailand where they volunteer for an English language school deep in the mountains. COVID-19 changes everything and cuts their trip short!
