His initial reaction is to hide the new abilities. While on a bicycle ride, he has to use his powers to save a woman and two children. The act is recorded by a bystander and appears on TV, when an announcer gives him the name Pedalman. This leads to a series of adventures involving aliens and an unusual alliance.
