Book Synopsis
A dog named Yami gets adopted into a new family. He was a lazy, clumsy, dumb, fearful, dog who took many naps. Since Yami was also insensitive & obnoxious, he was not readily accepted by the rest of the pack. The pack consisted of three other dogs and a crow. The story highlights Yami's obnoxious behaviors, and how he eventually becomes accepted into the pack. Based on a true story, the photos of the real pack are shown at the end.

I read the book to my 4 year old and my 6 year old. While it was a little too advanced for my 4 year old, my 6 year old went crazy for it. The artwork is great, and the main character, Yami, is endearing. The story has a good mix of cuteness, drama and humor, is sometimes informative, and ends with a good moral. My 6 year old has already read it many times, and often reminds me of events in the book. Highly recommended!

Not just for kids. Love the story and the illustrations! Cute and funny! I bought one for myself and 4 books to give as gifts.

Simply charming! I heard about this book from a neighbor as I live in the neighborhood that this story is set in. I thought it would be "cute" and that I'd be compelled to offer an at-a-boy or some such. I am really taken aback and am pleased to say this story and it's characters are delightful. I heartaly recommend "Yami" as it is entertaining as can be. The book seems to be written for youngsters AND adults and should keep both coming back again and again.

I loved the Yami story! I didn't want it to end. It is a very rich and entertaining book. The wonderful little lessons along the way are great and I just love everything about it.

Being a Mom, I have read a lot of children's books. As the kids grow they need something more clever but still readable and endearing. These books are hard to find and
"Yami" fits the bill.

"Yami" is a rich book with not only humor, lovable characters, and cool illustrations but it also educates the reader on random topics.
I especially like how the Yami book got me thinking about dogs “jobs”. Everyone (human/dog) needs a “job” or “purpose”. I think everyone should ponder the question “what is my job on planet earth – especially in regard to how I interact with others”
