Book Synopsis
Dan Kyle grew up in the town of Dunsmuir, CA, along with his brother, Alan. After high school, he joins the Navy, when he decides to attend college to become a teacher. After being a substitute teacher for awhile, he decides to teach overseas, accepting an offer to teach in Myanmar, an oppressive country that is ruled by the military junta. He finds the love of his life, a fellow teacher, only to find himself arrested as a 'political prisoner', a prison deep in the jungles, hoping he can somehow escape, but how?
