Book Synopsis
The events of the 16th century altered the course of history for the next five hundred years. The rupture of Christendom by Martin Luther, John Calvin, and their progeny was combatted, slowed, and halted by the great counter-Reformation saints like Saints Ignatius, Francis Xavier, Pius V, and the like. The 16th century saw blood run through Europe, martyrs were born into Heaven like the original Christians of the first and second centuries. The Blessed Virgin Mary brought millions of new souls into the Church by her visiting Mexico in 1531. The Naval victory at Lepanto in 1571 saved Europe from being overrun by Muslim militants. The Council of Trent responded to the evils of the Protestant Revolt by solidifying Catholic orthodoxy and orthopraxy, which stabilized the Catholic Church for the next 350 years. But the world was never the same after Christendom was shattered. Despite these evils Christ continued to bring souls to grace by the Cross and into glory.
