Book Synopsis
On December 31, 2021, I was supposed to fly to the United Kingdom to study abroad with a group of students from the University of Georgia. On December 24, 2021, I tested positive for COVID-19.
On Wednesday January 5, I was ready to withdraw from the program. Just before midnight on the U.S. east coast, the U.K. reduced their travel restrictions so that you did not need a PCR test to clear COVID protocols.
Over the next couple of days, I scrambled to get things together so I could make it to England that weekend. Finally, after a remarkably bumpy plane ride and a delay at the baggage claim (just a few more things to test my patience), I arrived in the U.K. As I’m writing this, I’ve been here in the U.K. three days. The rest of this journal will be me documenting my struggles (both internal and external), my successes, my stories, adventures, and anything else that might happen to me over the course of the next three months.
