Merrick is on the same page as he too is grieving a loss & just wants to paint to escape, wants no more bad dates, and desires to be left alone with his lazy cat Whiskers.
Sylvester & Whiskers on the other hand don’t like the loneliness. Sylvester comes to Merricks apartment every day through the cracked window & cuddles with Whiskers & teases Merrick. Merrick loves Sylvester’s spunk & welcomes Sylvester. This of course all leads to Elaina having to pick up her cat everyday from Merrick. The feisty Sylvester knows exactly what he’s doing too as the fluffy Maine Coon believes Merrick is the perfect fit for his owner & wants to see Elaina happy again.
When the neighbors start to gossip, Merrick asks Elaina if she will “fake date” him so his friends will get off his back for being single. Elaina agrees so she can stay focused on what she came here for, but before you know it, Elaina and Merrick are starting a friendship of laughs, stories, cooking, & trying their best not to fall in love. Many twists and turns start to develop that could stop the true love from igniting. But no one can stop the furry kids schemes. They know when humans generate this much spark, the cats out of the bag.
