Book Synopsis
A retiring U.S. Marine Raider unit takes on a covert mission to bring to justice a fellow Raider who went rogue overseas, with four civilian deaths to his credit. The Raiders meet their neighbor, Ruth Taylor, also retired, who is learning the ins and outs of running her own Oklahoma ranch. When Ruth accidentally becomes involved in the Raiders' last mission, Colonel Bill Allen has his hands full keeping stubborn, impetuous Ruth safe from the machinations of their criminal subject. While keeping a PTSD recovery program running successfully on his own ranch, Bill struggles to maintain a purely platonic relationship with his neighbor. When he finds himself face-to-face with his parents' killer, he becomes totally smitten when Ruth's determination and shooting skills come to his rescue. When the Raiders are finally able to turn their attentions back to their original mission, more romance, gunfire, explosives and bloodshed ensue.
