Book Synopsis
The story of a young mother and her daughter who flee to a small town to hide and start a new life. Lena likes her quiet job at the local flower shop and Emilia is most concerned with making friends and avoiding the monster under her bed.

At first, Filbaun seems idyllic with its wide main street, friendly folks, and bucolic values. But soon there are sounds in the night, the feeling of being watched in the day time, and everyone is dreading the coming May. Soon, Lena realizes that the monster under her daughter's bed might not just be a child's imagination.

Lena will have to try and uncover the mystery of this town and then, when she fully realizes the horror, attempt to get her daughter to safety.
