History and Development of the City of Miami Gardens

This book traces the history of the City of Miami Gardens from a description of the area in North Dade as far back as the 1960s when the demographics of the area began changing. By the 1980s there was a county-wide push to incorporate municipalities and by 1994, a proposal for the City of Destiny was formed. That eventually led to the incorporation of the City of Miami Gardens in 2003. This book traces the city's history through those years. The first edition was written in 2005 and the second edition in 2012.
