I have read this book a couple of times and bought it for my friends.
It is deeply moving. I asked the author where in the Gospels some scenes appeared? It turns out it was her imagination, her way of developing the story of John the Baptist's life. Moira thanked me saying it was the best compliment she ever got about her book. It made the whole story come to life and made John and Jesus more human, relatable. And the book had a lot of wisdom to it, also.
I am going to read it again!

I absolutely loved Here I Am. I've shared it with several friends and each time I was told that the reader fell in love with it. I feel totally different toward John now!!!! He isn't the oddball I always thought him to be.

Yesterday morning I finished reading your novel "Here I Am". I love it! and was very surprised with the ending. It was so beautiful an ending. Surely you had great inspiration to write it. Sometimes I thought I was seeing a movie, because of the description of everything has so many details that one can see what you are saying. Congratulations for such a wonderful novel. You are to be heartily congratulated on your book, HERE I AM. I am very impressed with the amount of research you must have done to describe the life and times of John in such interesting detail. It brought a sense of reality to all the scenes. I could see and understand all the characters in the story quite clearly. Most impressive, though, was the imagination you showed in the telling of the story. You made John a fascinating, real person with doubts, failings and passions. GREAT WORK.
