Sample Remedy: Wonderful, Cure-All Tonic
This tonic relieves the symptoms of colds, flu’s, hangovers, nausea and stomachache. It takes many ingredients, most found easily at a health food
store or herb shop and well-worth the effort to make:
2 pints Madeira wine
1 sprig wormwood
1 sprig rosemary
1 small bruised nutmeg
1 inch bruised ginger root
1 inch bruised cinnamon bark
12 large organic raisins
Pour off about an ounce of the wine. Place herbs in the wine. Cork the bottle tightly. Place the bottle in a cool, dark place for a week or two. Strain off the herbs. Combine this medicated wine with a fresh bottle of Madeira. Mix thoroughly. Sip a small amount at a time whenever needed. You may also use the medicated wine alone, undiluted with the unmedicated wine to help settle the stomach, get energy, and well, make you feel much better. CAUTION: too much of this can make you feel so much better you could be seeing cross-eyed.
