Book Synopsis
When reports of a dragon surface in the peaceful lands of Gristimea Chris is sent to learn how to slay them from the warriors who live in a barren and foreboding place known as Dragon Island. However when Sophia, Captain of the Dragon Slayers is injured in battle and kept from fighting, she accompanies Chris back to his homeland to teach the soldiers of Gristimea all the tricks she knows about defeating the fearsome beasts. Thrust into a very different world than the one she knows, Sophia tries to cope for as long as she can and ultimately finds a friend in Chris. But when an old enemy resurfaces and threatens Dragon Island, Sophia makes the decision to go back, putting duty to her people before her own heart.
