Book Synopsis
On October 14, 1944, Joe Ostrander, 1st Lt. United States Army Air Corp, dropped his eggs in the early morning breakfast line at his Air Force base in southern Italy. He thought, "oh well, I'll just get some more tomorrow". His next eggs would be seven months away, as that morning his B-24 Liberator was shot down while bombing oil refineries over Ploesti, Romania.
