At four years of age, Jeffrey was holding to his mother's coat tails while she roamed the streets of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Annie was attempting to escape the expectations of society and the responsibilities of motherhood.

Annie was traveling south of the border into Mexico, when on a whim, she abandoned her five year old boy with some strangers on a busy freeway near the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. Annie's choices would forever alter the lives of her children and all those who loved her. Her favorite child would suffer the abandonment of a mother.

Jeffrey is the author of ‘Annie’s Choice’; a memoir of his life as a child abandoned in Mexico. It is a story of struggle, survival, and salvation. It is Jeffrey’s tribute to the Marie Family who rescued him, loved him, and proved ‘Family’ is sometimes the strangers that help you along the way. Jeffrey’s determination to survive shines through in every chapter. He hopes his story will encourage and inspire people to reach out and affect change in the lives of others. With a portion of the proceeds of the sale of this book, Jeffrey hopes to establish a foundation in honor of Jean and Julie Marie.
