“Going somewhere?” Sonic asks.
“Yes,” the peacock replies. “Lovely day isn’t it?”
“Sure is a pleasant day to stop travelers and demand payment for walking through our territory.”
“Payment for walking through your territory…” the peacock says as if testing out the words. “And what would that payment be?”
Leaping from out of the bushes, Ashley lands next to the peacock and says, “your life!”
Flying backwards, the peacock launches two feathers at Sonic and Ashley. Piercing the ground in front of them, the feathers stand right up. Sonic gulps at how close it came to piercing him. Ashley nearly passes out when it strikes the ground in front of her, plus the feather tickles her nose when she breathes in.
“You're not the first miscreants that have wanted me dead, but I am the last traveler you two will be messing with. My name is Quillen, I’m sure you’ve heard of me.” The peacock says.
