The amazing life and legends of the First Black American Military Aviator. He left home, alone, at the age of 8 on a journey to France for Equality. The book, uniquely written as conversations with Eugene Jacques Bulllard. The author never met his hero. The book goes back to the summer before Bullard's death in 1961...and from there Bullard takes you back into his reality and his incredible adventures that include his trip to Norflok where he stowed away on a German ship . Aboard he learned some of the language and was put ashore in Scotland at the age of 12. He had various jobs, became a boxer, a dancer and finally made it to France at the age of 18 and joined the French Foreign Legion (1914) where he became a medalled hero..wounded and refused a discharge was assigned to the French Flying Service as a gunner BUt became a pilot. After the war married into white French royalty, opened a major nightclub frequented by celebrities. Became a spy and was returned back to the United State

The original true life story of the First Black American Military Aviator. How did a uneducated son of a sharecropper become the hero of two wars, marry into French Royalty, be a spy and resistance fighter..alas...amazing and true...in his own words.
