Book Synopsis
Aejemjem is a Marshallese-language literary periodical. The title comes from an old word that means powerful in speech, persuasive, weighty in words. This issue features the poetry of Selina Leem, an award winning screenplay by Jack Niedenthal, and an oral history about WWII scouts. Also learn about rainwater harvesting and Kwajalein through (black and white) photoessays. Enjoy other short stories and memoirs in the first issue of Aejemjem. All writing is in Marshallese with some translation and explanation in English.

Iakwe/Hi! I may not have lot's of word to say if you don't mind thank you... I'll try my best to something about this useful book and few words about myself... I hope so full that I'll learn a lot from this book. Thank you... Happy New year! My name is Rulbert R. Heine. Both of my parents are Marshallese and they use to share some interesting stories about our Marshall Islands histories. One of few stories I still remembered, during world war #2 in our tiny small coral of the Marshall Islands. For the most, my both parents one time shared sad stories to me about how hard and straggle they went through during the war... It was so sad but some ways I learned a lot from their good and sadly stories. Thank you so much...
