Book Synopsis
"I was born at home. Well sure, we all was in those days." So begins this true story of Addie May Smith Treder, who was born on an Iowa farm in 1895 and came west to California with her sisters when she was 17 years old. Based on a 1969 interview, this is Addie's story about her early years in Iowa in South Dakota and the journey to California, her marriage and the untimely death of her husband, raising her two children through the Great Depression, and the important role that her sisters played in her life.
